Heinz Soup

In the beginning
One of Britain’s all-time favourite, and most convenient, tasty meals Heinz Cream of Tomato Soup first appeared on UK shelves in 1910. Way back then, it was imported from Canada, but when the Second World War broke out, importing products became impossible. Rationing also made it difficult to produce soups in the UK. To solve this problem, we came up with new products making soups out of local ingredients such as potato, lentil and carrot. Many of these varieties are still popular today.

Food stuff
When we make our soups we use only 100 per cent high-quality meat and include as many fresh ingredients as possible, for example, we use three different, carefully selected varieties of tomatoes in every can of Heinz Cream of Tomato Soup. We don’t use artificial colours, preservatives or GM ingredients. What’s more, we’ve reduced the salt, sugar and fat in all our recipes, making Heinz soups nutritious and tasty meals.

Top trivia
We sell an amazing 289 million cans of soup each year in the UK – that's five cans of tasty Heinz soup for every person in the country.* If they were put end to end, they would reach round the moon's equator three times!**
